Andorra
Andorra is a small Pyrenean country where steep valleys, ski areas, Romanesque churches and thermal spas sit close together. It works best for travelers who enjoy active days but do not need a packed itinerary: hike or ski in the morning, linger over mountain food, then return to Andorra la Vella for shopping, museums or a long soak.
Andorra is compact, mountainous and more varied than its size suggests. The central urban corridor around Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany is busy with shops, restaurants, museums and the Caldea thermal complex, while quieter parishes such as Ordino and Canillo lead quickly into forests, high meadows and glacial lakes. Romanesque churches and stone villages give the landscape a strong local character.
The country is easiest to enjoy by choosing a clear seasonal focus. Winter is built around skiing and snow activities, with January to March generally offering the most dependable conditions. From June through September, hiking, cycling and mountain excursions take over. Distances are short, but roads are winding and traffic can build at weekends, so a slower plan usually works better than trying to cover every valley.
Useful context, without the checklist overload.
Local buses connect the main towns and valleys, while taxis and rental cars are useful for quieter areas. Winter driving may require chains.
Andorra itself does not require a visa, but it is not in Schengen. Entry is through France or Spain, so travelers who need a Schengen visa should obtain double- or multiple-entry permission.
Service is not normally expected. Round up or leave around 5–10% for especially good service.
Generally safe to drink. Mountain water can taste noticeably mineral-rich, so bottled water is easy to find if you prefer it.
230V, 50Hz, C/F plugs. Bring an adapter if needed.

Frequently asked questions.
Andorra does not issue its own tourist visa. Because you must enter through France or Spain, check Schengen requirements; if a visa is required, choose double or multiple entry.
