About Mindful Vacation
Travel with more attention
Mindful Vacation is an independent travel publication created by Harun and Saša.
For us, a mindful vacation is not about filling every hour of a trip or rushing from one famous attraction to the next. It means travelling with curiosity, awareness and respect for the place you are visiting.
It is about noticing the atmosphere of a neighbourhood, choosing experiences that feel meaningful, supporting local businesses and allowing enough time to enjoy a destination rather than simply collect photographs from it.
We believe the best journeys are not always the busiest ones. Sometimes they are the ones that help you slow down, discover something unexpected and return home with a genuine connection to a place.
Travel slowly. Notice more.
The destinations we cover
Mindful Vacation explores cities, regions and destinations across Europe and beyond. Our articles focus on places with a strong sense of identity, interesting local culture, memorable architecture, beautiful landscapes and experiences worth travelling for.
You will find:
- detailed city guides;
- practical travel advice;
- thoughtfully designed itineraries;
- cultural and historical highlights;
- neighbourhood recommendations;
- restaurants, cafés and local businesses;
- accommodation ideas;
- lesser-known places alongside essential landmarks;
- inspiration for slower and more meaningful trips.
We are especially interested in destinations that reward curiosity: places where the experience goes beyond the most obvious tourist attractions.
A more personal perspective
There are already thousands of travel websites explaining what to see, where to stay and which attractions to visit. Mindful Vacation aims to offer something more considered.
Our guides combine personal experience with careful research. We pay attention not only to what is popular, but also to what makes a destination distinctive, enjoyable and worth remembering.
Rather than creating endless lists of places, we try to understand how a destination feels and how travellers can experience it in a more natural way. That might mean recommending a neighbourhood walk instead of another crowded landmark, spending a morning in a local market or leaving enough space in an itinerary for an unplanned discovery.
Our goal is to create guides that are useful, honest and inspiring without making travel feel like a checklist.
Independent travel and editorial transparency
The trips featured on Mindful Vacation are independently planned and funded by us. This means that our destination choices, opinions and recommendations are not determined by tourism boards, hotels or other travel companies.
Our independence allows us to write openly about what we genuinely enjoyed, what we found useful and what we believe readers should know before visiting.
In the future, we may occasionally accept hosted stays, press trips, complimentary experiences or commercial collaborations. Whenever this happens, it will be clearly disclosed within the relevant article.
Hosted experiences will never guarantee positive coverage, and all opinions will remain our own.
